I`m feeling pretty sad because I wans`t able to get the UE 3 because they didn`t produce enough bass.And I`ve tried the S-Jays,which a review claimed being the bassiest of the single armature series,which still wasn`t enough for me.Which made me realised that Single armatures just isn`t for me so I`ve switched back to dynamic drivers D: Maybe it`s the genre I listen to.Oh and the man who attended to me the last time I went to audition the UE3 still remembered me,even thought I was in school uniform,spectacles and had my hair tied up,[HAPPY]

Talked to Yuen Lam today at the Bus Stop and realised that there isn`t a need for me to start studying for SS right now.I should probably do it like a few days before the exam instead.And I`ll get a week of replacement for English,which I should have revised on two weeks ago.Damn.

Recently,I feel that I`m unable to hold my temper as well as before.I get all pissed off because of failed download links,unable to get a pair of UE3 by this week and having not studied anything this whole damn week,which I definitely should be angry with myself for.

And about the UE3,I reckoned that I need to go back to Stereo again to audition them to make sure that there`s enough bass.This temptation is making me think about the UE3 almost every second and I`m dieing to go to Stereo like almost every hour.I think so much about it I`m starting to get pissed off with myself D: And I`m worry that if there`s not enough bass on the UE3,I wouldn`t know which other IEMs I should get.

Have been reading up reviews on DAPs and looking up forum`s for comments from audiophiles.I was considering,initially,whether to get myself an iPod Touch or Creative Zen X-Fi.However,after coming across the Cowon S9 and seeing someone comment that iPods are useless without amps,iPod Touch immediately got eliminated from the list.Cowon S9 is totally amazing and is being named the best mp3 in the world currently with it`s awesome SQ.It should be better than the X-Fi with it`s BBE feature.However,it costs $366 for one with 8GB memory,compared to getting a Zen X-Fi with the same memory for around $239.I definitely would go for the S9 but I`ll have to convince my dad,who`d rather go for iPod touch because "cool factor" matters more than SQ to him.Anyway,I`m bent on getting expensive audio equipments after I can make my own money.

24 July 2009 marks the start of a series of suspect Khoo Shi Mei`s court trials : Preliminary Examinations.Up for today`s trial was Justice English.And I`m so dead for writing an argumentative essay.I totally missed out the part about the teacher`s saying we are only suppose to write narrative or personal recount and Sarah says Mr Tsung is definitely going to fail me D: Anyway,all these court trials will have to continue till 6 August which is when the Magistrate is going to decide whether to give me a death penalty for my laziness,procrastination and wrong doings.Okay,abandoning the topic about me being a criminal, I went to Ministry Of Food today with Rui Xian and Wei Loke,having Rui Xian treat us to ice cream.And I had my first taste of a Starbucks drink.Yes,at the age of 16,I know it`s a disgrace.

Anyway,I just got myself a pair of Audio Technica ATH-SJ3 Headphones yesterday,with the help of Kai Yuan and Wei Loke.Verdict?Canalphones are still the best.I think headphones are still better for home usage because all I could hear from the headphones,while traveling on a bus, were the vocals and the noise coming from the bus engine.My next target would be a pair of Ultimate Ears,maybe a SuperFi 5 Pro wtih Dual balanced armature drivers.But it`s going to cost me $339.So I`m thinking of going for a pair of MetroFi 200,which wouldn`t rip such a huge hole in my pocket.Anyway,I wouldn`t be getting it in the near future because I`ll take forever to same that amount of money.And I`m still reckoning if I should get an iPod touch or a Creative Zen X-Fi.I certainly need some enlightenment.

Yes,It`s about band.

I will never regret again that I have chosen BAND as my CCA in my secondary school life.
I`ve learnt lots of things from values of life to drills and of course,MUSIC.
Most importantly,I`ve learnt to socialise with more people and made lots of new friends and developed a bond with my section members.
Also,I`ve learnt what kind of people there can be on this Earth.

Anyway,I really want to THANK ARINI and ANGELA for joining band and being my friends.I wouldn`t know what I`ll become of today if both of them hadn`t been in band and of course,the same section.
Thank you for accompanying me during meals or I would have skipped meals.(I`ve skipped lunch during a holiday practice when both of them didn`t come when we were sec 1 D:)

in fact, it's the BEST overture i had ever heard riverside symphonic band played! really. the whole band sounded as one. it wasnt playing notes anymore. the whole band moved with mr tan.. i missed that moment. it was the first time mr tan smiled when he was conducting us. showing us how proud & satisfied he was. tears already start to flow down.. but managed to control. *relief*

vogel wasnt too bad. but some parts here & there someone tried to rush? *hmmm is it cause we know the piece too well? too caution over every singel details? if only we played vogel better.

so out of the stage. jiamin keep saying sorry over a wrong note she played? xiuhui more pro. cry till like someone had just died over a wrong note she played. then nickie said winds were out of tune. keep blaming herself. & so i began to think back. & recalled i didnt hit the high high E on e flat nicely. :( SOB! the only regret bah? tried so hard to hold my tears then .

pulled out the card i did overnight for mr tan. & said: mr tan, for you. he went: oh~ what's this? & i replied thnks mr tan. tears couldnt stop flowing then. i rmbed kelvin said how scary i was. peikai at that moment still can say " your hair very to play leh" -.- well, for those who tried to make me laugh, thnks. but the more others said, the more i cried. couldnt help it. sorry! i looked very ugly then bah?
at that moment we didnt know we could join the speech day performance, so i cried like mad. thought it was the last time playing under mr tan. 4 years had passed, how times fly..
oh zawani mentioned" clarinetists, you guys were the best; i'm so proud of you! "& she gave me her hug afterwards. yea! :D
so before the results were announced, we saw how all other schools jump in joy. so told sookhui, who was sitting beside me " hey get reeady for our gold, we will shout like crazy laas!"
at that moment, i convinced myself, no matter what the results turned out to be, i wouldnt cry.
so SILVER! shocked i am. the whole band, none of us clapped, NONE! only other audiences clapped for us. how pathetic. even the BRONZE band cheered so much.
so went out of the place. telling all other people not to cry, till the minute i saw my whole section standing in a row.. all of them were crying (except cerlyn & kel&cheachee?); i couldnt hold back anymore! how i wished to give everyone a hug then.
went back to school. in bus still cry cry cry? i was the only one i suppose?
nickie cried alot too. both crazy people tgt = cannot stop crying.
juliana called, i cried even harder. keep thinking how i had disappoint mr tan. keep saying sorry that we didnt achieve gold. they tired to console me, but i felt worse.
cause i rmb jiamin said" when you joined this band, this is a silver band, when you leave this band, it's still a silver band"
jiahuan called at night, talked with her for an hour & so cried over the phone for another hour.
adeline was saying why you didnt collect you tears? enough to bathe le. ;X

cause in my mind, i knew i would miss band. plus, jiamin's word. to others, we didnt bring the band to a higher standard. it's still a silver. but, they weren't in our band. they wont uds.
please dont judge us this way, it's way too unfair to us. i hate it when others said good job in maintaining the silver. beacause compared to 2 years ago, i dare say we've improved so much. we achieve a silver of a different standard.

just like what mr tan said, the judges only heard us for that 20 mins. they dont know the amt of efforts & time put in for that 20 mins. cause if they were, they would have known we worked as hard as a gold band.
riverside band had grown so much, that's cause we had mr tan. a very nice & good conductor who doesnt gives up on us no matter what. juniors please, trust me. mr tan is the best conductor you would ever find. treasure him, please.

mr tan thanks for unleashing the ultimate potential in every single of us. thanks for working so hard for us. we know how much you had sacrifice for us. other than apologising that we didnt met your target, i dont know what else to do already. without you, there wont be rss band as of today. thanks for everything, everything..
we know we can leave the band without any worry under your hand.

we tried our best already, didnt we? no more regrets, no more crying.
i'll rmb that moment on stage, rmb all the times we worked hard together; all the runnings, all the scoldings, all the crying, all the laughing, all the angryness; EVERYTHING bout rss band, i will always remember..
get back the gold for us in the next 2 years, take it on our behalf..

What matters is that we tried our best.

Oh,It`s a Silver for Riverside Symphonic Winds.
But we did play well.Really well.I think it was better then the practices and Mr Tan said that the performance on stage that had the best intonation so far.

It`s freaking sad we got silver but like Mr Tan said,I think we deserved it.
The teachers each gave comments and the more they said,the more I felt like crying.
Yes.And I did cry.Mostly because I am leaving band,and of course,Percussion.

Anyway,the band had work hard to get this results and of course,the leaders have also worked hard to bring the band to the current standard.
Nevertheless,I hope that the band will continue to work towards a Gold for the next SYF.

Went to Bugis yesterday to take Neo Prints with the Percussionist before going to Esplanade to listen to West Winds.
I was late for 20 mins when meeting them at Woodlands Mrt because I couldn`t finish my recording.
And I only realised that Hui Wen wasn`t with us until we reached Yio Chu Kang.
And she didn`t know the concert was yesterday when I called her.
Had lots of fun in the Neo Print station :D

Anyway,
Miss Chen`s really cool but couldn`t really see Mr Tan.
The concert was good and they invited a poet and an opera singer.
I find it hard to believe that the voice actually came out from that lady.Her voice was fantastic!

Went to Mac for dinner with percussion(except Hui Wen),Yi Khoon,Pei Kai & Kelvin.
Were making lots of noise but had lots of fun :D
And the guys were talking about opening up your pants during exams to cheat for Sec 2 science Chapter 5.LOL

Took MRT home with them and Hakim asked me if I could walk home with him.
Because Arini told him about whistling at night being a taboo.
He was all freaked out and he said he couldn`t stand the silence at his neighbourhood after I left when we reached his bus stop.So he called me to talk about the new Pearl snare drum.

Sea Monsters was quite nice,at Omni theatre.
But it was making me really giddy and the sensation was enhanced by a kid kicking on my seat non stop from the back.

Going to the polyclinic is such a hassle.Had to queue for five times altogether and only got everything done after 3 hours or so.
And in the end,we only got referred to the hospital.
And my sister did a blood test and she`s daignosed with anemia.
Did check up on my leg and all I get was medicine and vitamins and I`ll have to wait for them to call me back on my appointment at KK.
Usual routine for the polyclinics,I guess.

My dad drove me to Accent at Bukit Timah to purchase the mallets and triangle.
Thank you for driving me there,dad.
Sorry for canceling the trip with you,Hakim & Leonardo.
Anyway,4 pairs of mallets,1 triangle,1 triangle clip,1 set of triangle beaters cost around $325.
And I hesitated alot on which mallet and triangle to buy.There were triangles ranging from $4 to $170.
Expensive.

Went to band practice and I guess everyone is quite contented with the new mallets and triangle :D

Dr Lee came today and like the last time,I`ve learnt lots of things again :D
And he mentioned that the school bell is out of tune and the principal should change the bell.
He had sore throat and was still drinking the lemon tea Mr Tan bought for him,which we believe will make the throat worse.

Mr Tan talked to us again,and he made everyone come up with a schedule on how they are going to practice 4 hours a day,except percussion.,because he said we`re OKAY.
Though we`re happy we he said that,But we`re feeling bad about it that everyone else is being "punished" except us and most of them didn`t have time to even eat dinner.
We volunteered to get food for them but we didn`t manage to get back in time,Mr tan still got back before we did.So they couldn`t even have a bite.Poor them,going on without food from noon to 9 plus.
And after Mr Tan came back,he was stricter than before,making them run for every note that is out of tune.And they haven`t even had their dinner D:
And we were at the back feeling sad for them D:
Anyway,I went out to on the lights at the corridor with Nickie so they would not run in fear of the darkness :D

Percussion moved the instruments down to gym early and Mdm Liang told us to tell Mr Tan to hurry,but nobody had the guts to do it.
In the end,we still dragged on to 9 plus.

Someone please enlighten me.
I`ve been wondering for a long time.
My opinion.No offence.
Teachers praise the percussion for being the best section in the band.
But are we really good?Or is it just because our parts are too simple?
Did we really work harder than the other sections?Or was it because we could do better because we need not do intonation?
We`re different from every other section in terms of skills and parts.So how can we be compared?
Mr Tan mentioned that we can remember what he said but the other sections couldn`t.
Is it because they had too much things to remember and we had lesser parts so we could remember more easily?Or is it that they really do not remember?
Mr Tan seldom pin-point on us,is it because we really played well so he need not worry?Or was it that he didn`t really pay attention to us?Or was it that our part is really too easy?
If percussion were made to play the winds and brass instruments,are we able to produce the same results we are producing now?Probably not,I guess.
So,it still comes down to not being able to make a fair comparison between us and the others.
I need enlightenment.

And I`m going to Accent again tomorrow with Elisha to get Chimes Hammer.
Is this the price to pay for having an easy life at the back of the band room?Probably.

Weiloke,Tiffy & Joel bought me chips,from KL?& Joel passed it to me after band while he was waiting for PeckYong.
